Sea life on a Venice clear kayak night tour

Our kayaks are fully clear and lit from below, so the shallow water around Nokomis becomes a window into the night.

A glowing view of the bay

We paddle slowly through shallow water, staying in one to three feet of water about 85 percent of the time. The LED lights shine through the clear hull and light up the seagrass and everything moving over it.

What guests often spot

  • Fish drawn to the lights
  • Rays gliding over the bottom
  • Crabs and other creatures on the seagrass
  • Wading birds along the shoreline
  • Manatees and dolphins on some nights, more often in the warmer months

Wildlife is never guaranteed, but our guides know where to look and help you spot what is below. There are no alligators on this tour.

Nets and guides

Each kayak includes a net so you can gently scoop up and look at small sea life before letting it go. Your guides explain what you find.
